DCTribal Spring Hafla @ Artomatic!

11pm to 1 am
Cabaret Stage
11pm: Belly dance performances by local students and professional tribal fusion belly dancers!
11:20pm: Free beginning belly dance lesson! Learn some moves to try out at the hafla (Arabic for "party") and open dance jam to DJ v:shal kanwar.
11:20 - 1am: Hafla and open floor dance party. DJ v:shal kanwar will spin the best dubstep, breaks, and global beats.
DCTribal is a local volunteer collective working to build community through tribal fusion belly dance.
Donations to DCTribal graciously accepted!

Tue, June 30, 2009 - 6:19 PMThank you Samantha, Eugenia, Belladonna & Bellatrix, and Vshal for making the evening spectacular! We had a great time, about 20 people at the belly dance lesson, and a huge crowd that danced, danced, danced till they kicked us out!
special shout out to the tribal remix girls for showing up and representing!
Special thanks to JD for helping manage, Urvashi for her fabulous promotion skillz, and gecko and Kendra for helping to work the vending table!

Thu, July 2, 2009 - 9:46 AMYay! I'm happy to hear the Hafla went well. I was sad to miss this (although a weekend of Mira Betz was a very awesome substitute), and I can't wait until the next DC Tribal hafla!!
